Secondary School
BCIS offers a student-centred learning environment that follows the Cambridge Curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5. Our programme combines academic rigour, creative expression and community spirit to ensure well-rounded graduates who are prepared for the modern world and the challenges of further education.
Our small class sizes ensure that our teachers can get to know each student individually and work with them to enhance their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
Student progress in the secondary is tracked with internal and external testing, and we assess students regularly, sending reports to parents throughout the academic year.
The Secondary School provides a rigorous academic education taught by highly qualified, knowledgeable and inspiring teachers through lively, active lessons. Students are challenged to think for themselves and to develop their minds independently. In Secondary School, we pride ourselves on working closely with families and students to ensure that all children have high academic aspirations and achieve the success needed to enter the foremost universities worldwide.
The curriculum at BCIS is based mainly on the Cambridge International curriculum. In Key Stage 3 (Years 7 to 9), teachers aim to provide students with the knowledge base and skills to further develop a love of learning for that subject. In Key Stage 4 (Years 10 to 11), students work towards their Cambridge IGCSE exams, and in Key Stage 5 (Years 12 to 13), students follow the Cambridge International A-level programme.
Through the curriculum, we aim to develop an enthusiasm for learning in all of our students. They are challenged to develop their ideas and push their thinking further beyond classroom study. We want students to enjoy learning and develop a genuine passion for the subjects they study.
With superb outdoor and indoor facilities and a staff dedicated to co-curricular enrichment, BCIS offers a wide variety of fun co-curricular and extracurricular activities throughout the week, which will ensure that your child remains physically and intellectually active and engaged.
